Able Active launch day arrives

Today marks the official launch of Able Active - our new app to promote trails, amenities and events for people with disabilities, but being more specific about key disability categories and capturing feedback based on user experience into an accessibility rating.

The app also serves as a platform to gather data from the community, such as rural disabled parking locations at trailheads, to help fill the gaps in what we know today.

So far, we've leveraged the excellent work at Get Ireland Active, Irish Heart Foundation, Kildare Sports Partnership and more, ensuring that we have a strong foundation of official national and local trails, combined with weather. daylight and other key information, to make the planned outing more enjoyable for all.

We've started our journey today, which we hope to do in collaboration with users, amenity operators and sports organisations, helping everyone connect with nature and sport in a meaningful and sustainable way.
